Swiss ball exercises are a great way to build core body strength. You can perform
them with the swiss ball alone, or with dumbbells. It helps to produce better balance, and works on
your core stability muscles at the same time. Your core stability muscles become engaged due to being
called upon to maintain your position and balance on the ball. This gives you a more complete workout
than your can get doing the equivalent moves on the floor.
Swiss ball exercises have been popular for some time now. With buzz words like functional fitness and core
training the Swiss ball or stability ball can now be found in every gym around. They have become so popular
that trainers and gym rats everywhere have come up with new and creative ways to use the stability ball in their
workout routine.
Swiss ball exercises are perfect for abdominal training. As you bend and move you can use the ball to
maintain balance and posture. Muscle movement is increased to the maximum when you place your feet flat on
the floor, with your lower back on the ball and upper body and thighs parallel to the floor.
Most Swiss ball exercises are based on the same principle - a part of the body is elevated on
the top of the ball and this part of the body is encouraged by gravity to roll off the side of the ball. This
might not sound very technical and you might assume that there are only a handful of exercises that can usually be
done in this way.
Not only will Swiss ball exercises help you to gain strength in these areas, they can also help to
increase balance and stability as well as the ability to control the muscles that are in your core
area. Not to mention that attractive six-pack look.
