sitting on this chair, small movements are made and this gradually strengthens the muscles. This
strengthening process is termed as active sitting. Active sitting refers to making the body in a balanced way
by slight movements.
When sitting on the exercise ball chair during the day there will be constant minor adjustments of the body to
keep upright on it. These may be completely imperceptible to you but will still do your core a world of
good. These tiny movements will work muscles that you may not have used for awhile so it is recommended to
begin in short bursts until you get used to it.
If you start using the exercise ball chair, you might find it uncomfortable to sit in for long
hours at a time. Start with about an hour or less, then sit on it for longer hours as the days go by.
You can also exercise on it during downtime, say when your computer is saving an especially large file, or if you
have to scan your hard drives for viruses or damage. The abdominal muscles are strengthened while posture is
improved upon. As a result, circulation is promoted and improved as well.
